E cup size: what it means, and why it changes by band
E is six inches of difference in the UK and international system. Several US brands use "E" for a different, smaller size, which is where most of the confusion in this search starts.

Sister sizes keep the E cup's volume
Go down one band and up one letter, or up one band and down one letter, and the cup volume stays the same.

What people get wrong about the E cup
A US "E" cup usually means a UK DD, not a UK E
Victoria's Secret's own size chart prints its cup rows as "DD (E)" and "DDD (F)": the brand's "E" is an alias for DD, one inch smaller than a true UK/international E. On our engine and the international chart, UK E is six inches of difference and converts to US DDD, while the five-inch UK DD is the size several US brands print as "E".
"E cup" searches are not asking about one universal size
As with every letter on this site, a 32E and a 40E are not the same size: only the six-inch gap from the band is fixed, and the band itself moves the actual volume up or down.
